It was the end of a long working day and a fantastic night out. One of my friends was leaving for Australia and I was in the finals of a singing competition. I had spent the day seeing some lovely regular clients and the night singing and dancing away sipping champagne. It was the only night when all of us girls were out, the whole gang.
After dropping all the girls off in a taxi, at my expense, as well as footing the bill for the whole night, the friend leaving for Australia rang me up to let me know "she knew". It turned out the so called best friend that accompanied me to my interview, who encouraged me to take this path, had blabbed before I had even started working. She felt as she was leaving I deserved to know.
Rather than try and understand my friends didn't. They accepted my drinks but then laughed behind my back. So I did what anyone would do and phoned the friend and yelled at her. What the hell was she doing telling everyone my business? No sooner did I finish yelling at her then she must have phoned around the others to let them know that I had found out what a big mouth she had. Their opinions on what I was doing was extremely narrow minded. That was the night I lost most of my friends.
Work was going well until that point as well, I was busy everday, reviews were constantly going up and I was extremely busy. It caused many arguements trying to to get a night off work. Incalls really took off and I was getting booked six weeks in advance. If I was lucky I would get the odd night off every few weeks. What had been necessity had turned into something I really enjoyed. I had developed a group of regulars and things were going well.
That was until June 2003.
